Katie Boxler, BSN, BA, AAS
Registered Nurse
Katie Boxler is the founder of Selene Skin + Medspa. She is a registered nurse and currently studying to be a family nurse practitioner and Doctor of Nursing practice. Katie is completing her FNP and DNP degrees at the University of Southern Indiana. She received her first bachelor’s degree in Arts in Buffalo, New York and her second bachelor’s degree in Nursing in Ottawa, Canada. Katie has over 7 years of experience in aesthetics. She began her healthcare career as an aesthetic nurse in Ottawa, Canada. After working in the Capital of Canada, Katie moved to Los Angeles, California where she gained experience as an aesthetic nurse in the “epicenter” of aesthetic medicine, specifically in Beverly Hills and Hermosa Beach. In 2021, Katie moved to Nashville where she planted some roots and began her family.
Katie is passionate about aesthetic provider education and prioritizes patient safety. For her doctorate thesis, Katie researched and conducted an aesthetic medicine vascular occlusion educational study, involving 171 participants of aesthetic providers within the United States. In 2025, her research will be published by the Aesthetics Journal, the global leading monthly publication for the medical aesthetics specialty.
Katie enjoys educating providers on aesthetic injectables, injecting techniques, and aesthetic services. She privately educates other providers in North America. Previously, she was part of the InMode clinical trainers team. Katie loves working in this industry and has a passion for helping providers and patients become the best form of themselves.
When Katie’s not working or studying, she enjoying spending time with her family and friends, traveling, boating, and being outside

James Allred, MD, MS, FAAD
Medical Director
James Allred, is a dermatologist based in Gallatin, Tennessee with over a decade of experience in minimally invasive medical aesthetics. Dr. Allred completed his dermatology residency in Austin, Texas, where served as chief dermatology resident, patented multiple medical devices, and was a recipient of teaching awards and speaking awards, including from the Texas Dermatological Society.
He completed his medical school training at the University of Utah, where he served as student body president during his fourth year, co-founded the Bench-to-Bedside research program, and was among the first students to be chosen to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society for medical scholastic excellence.
Dr. Allred has lectured at national conferences, published academic articles, and founded multiple technology startups dedicated to improving patient care. He also was a founding member of the education committee for Advancing Innovation in Dermatology, a nonprofit dedicated to improving patient care through novel technologies and techniques. In 2021, Dr. Allred established Access Dermatology Clinic as the method to synthesize what he has learned as a clinician and an innovator to creatively and compassionately serve the people of southern Kentucky and northern Tennessee.
Dr. Allred is married with five beautiful children and has two large dogs. He gets the greatest enjoyment in life from them, especially when introducing them to his first love of the outdoors. One annual highlight for him is where he is able to take his family every year to the Colorado Rockies, where he leads the first and only continuing medical education hike that teaches dermatologists from around the country about how the environment (i.e. plants, sunlight, insect bites, etc) can negatively affect the skin.
